Walk-Off Seals 61st Victory for Gold Sox
|
Keisuke Nishida never let the Grafton Middies find their groove. Throughout the game, Nishida, who leads the SL in wins with 12, relied on his bread and butter, his change up, in pitching the Gold Sox to a win. The second-place Gold Sox have won 5 straight.
Late in the game, second baseman Noel Ballard had a big at-bat for Chicago. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Truman Valentine. The play gave the Gold Sox a 2-1 lead.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Chicago manager Brett Reichert.
