Yen Lifts Rangers to 8-2 Triumph
|
The Austin Rangers thumped the Richardson City Thundercats, 8-2, at Rangers Stadium. Yun Yen was a big reason his team got the win. Yen was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Thundercats fall to 9-12 and continue their uneven start to the 2028 season.
In the bottom of the 4th, the Rangers grabbed the lead when Tony Hernández rapped a two-out home run. Austin was trailing 2-1, when Hernández hit a 2-run home run off Alec Pittman to put his team in front, 3-2.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Imran Kopitar.
