SS Gómez Given 3-Game Suspension Wednesday, June 16th, 2027 Jorge Gómez didn't like the strike call, turned around and had some angry words with the home plate umpire. Apparently he went too far. The result is a 3-game suspension by the league office. The league cited his failure to leave the dugout after the ejection was the reason for the suspension. The Salem shortstop was ejected in a game at Ricochets Ballpark against the San Antonio BC following a controversial third-strike call. So far this season Gómez is batting .259 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 36 hits in 139 at-bats, 10 walks and a .316 OBP. Gómez has played in 35 games. |
