Injury Brings Season to End for Mayfield Tuesday, August 24th, 2027 "Not what I wanted to hear," said Tortolita's Rick Mayfield to reporters this afternoon, as he revealed that the injury he sustained on 08/23/2027 would force him to miss the rest of the season. "The doctor made it clear," Mayfield said. "There's no chance for me -- none at all -- to come back this year. That's the last thing I wanted to hear." Mayfield has been out of action since he suffered a broken kneecap. In the 2027 season Mayfield is hitting .260 with 7 home runs. |
