Free-for-All Costs López and Zhai 4-Game Suspensions
Sunday, July 18th, 2027
One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Bulls-Expos game at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected Mt. Vernon's Rafael López and Niagara Falls's Dao-zi Zhai.
Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 4 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior.
Currently López is batting .226 with no home runs and 3 RBIs.
To date, Zhai has collected no saves in 8 relief appearances. He has rung up 19 strikeouts and 13 walks in 42.1 innings while registering a 2.98 ERA and a 3-1 won-lost record.
