Avino Touches All Bases, Hits for Cycle Thursday, September 16th, 2027 "To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Baldomero Avino grabbed a piece of baseball history today when he hit for the cycle. Avino went 4 for 5 with 4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored against Thunder Bay, leading the Panama City Piranhas to a 10-0 win at The Tank. "I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Avino said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in." Baldomero Avino tripled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Tony Solíz in the 7th.
