Losing Streak Continues for Stingers with 5-1 Loss
|
"Getting ahead of the hitters is the key," said Shively.
Vancouver Grey Wolves starter Roy Shively turned in an exceptional performance against the Toledo Stingers at Wolf Den in Vancouver, resulting in a Vancouver win, 5-1. Shively went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Tyler Rodríguez earned the save, his 7th, for the Grey Wolves.
Aquiles Marmelo was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once against the Stingers. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a 3-run home run, putting Vancouver in front, 3-0.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager TJ Reynolds. "It's nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
The Toledo losing streak has now reached 9 games.
