Cattlemen Drop Another One
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at Atlantica, knocking off the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 2-1. On the mound for Northern Virginia was left-hander Arnie Pittman, who played a pivotal role in the win. Pittman went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-4. Ilie Paunescu was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 21 save opportunities.
Chris Etheridge, who is tied for 4th in the SL in triples with 3, aided the Northern Virginia cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Pittman.
This loss makes it 8 in a row for Ft. Worth.
