Great Day for Ríos in Nuggets Win
|
Rocky Mountain designated hitter Juan Ríos made his presence felt in the 7-3 Nuggets triumph over the Vancouver Grey Wolves. Ríos went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Félix Jiménez, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 5-4. The Nuggets now have a record of 37-38.
Ríos contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Rocky Mountain in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Ríos took a sinker from Ambrose Randall and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Nuggets to leap in front, 2-1.
Ríos said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
