Middies Go Down to Defeat, 7-5
|
It was a good time at The Cattle Pen, where fans came to watch the Grafton Middies and Ft. Worth Cattlemen get after it.
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen stopped the Grafton Middies, 7-5, at The Cattle Pen. The Cattlemen got a big game from Nobuo Yamashita, who went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. Asher Spivey earned his 16th save in 18 tries.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic-born Jesús Martínez came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded and the Cattlemen trailing 4-3, he hit a bases-clearing double to left to put Ft. Worth on top.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
The 5th-place Cattlemen are now 32-33, the Middies 28-37.
