Best Excels, But Nuggets Win
|
Despite a fine performance by right fielder Keith Best, the Ft. Worth Cattlemen suffered a 6-5 loss to the Rocky Mountain Nuggets. Best went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Rafael Rivera was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. The Nuggets improve their record to 28-34 with the win over Ft. Worth.
Rocky Mountain took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Iván Vega hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Nuggets.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Rocky Mountain manager Matt Hunt.
