Aviators Pull Back to Even with 3-2 Victory
|
The D.C. Divided got a superb performance from pitcher Jon Dunn. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Seattle. The Aviators won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Dunn was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. José Lucero got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 6. Seattle is now riding a 4-game win streak.
In the bottom of the sixth, Seattle third baseman Jesús Rodríguez had a productive at-bat. With the bases empty and no outs, Rodríguez stroked a solo home run to center. It made the score 3-2, Seattle. For the game, he was 1-4 with a home run.
Said Seattle manager Mau Delgado: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
