Middies Turn Back Northern Virginia, 1-0

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids got a superb performance from pitcher Aurelio López, but the Middies still won the game, 1-0. López was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. The Middies own a robust 18-22 mark.
In the bottom of the second, Ramón Gómez hit a solo home run for Grafton. The 4th home run of the season for the Grafton left fielder put the Middies on top, 1-0.
"We did just enough to win," said Gómez.
