Expos Come Up Short at Yellowknife
|
The Niagara Falls Expos and Yellowknife Dragonblood provided some drama at The Dragon Den.
The Yellowknife Dragonblood picked up a win at The Dragon Den, knocking off the Niagara Falls Expos, 3-1. Starting pitcher Cecil Szatkowski, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Szatkowski was the winning pitcher and moves to 6-4. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. The save went to Pak Dong Hyeon, his 7th this season.
Yellowknife took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Miguel Herrera stroked a 2-run double to make it 3-1, Dragonblood.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Niagara Falls skipper Dave Ross. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
After today's action, Yellowknife sits at 41-53, while Niagara Falls falls to 33-61.
