In a well-pitched game between the Hogsmeade Cauldrons and the Alameda Airmen, pitcher Jerry Pellerin was fantastic. The Hogsmeade left-hander was named the player of the game in Hogsmeade's 3-1 win. Bradley Roth closed the door for Hogsmeade, picking up his 20th save of the year. Hogsmeade now sits in 4th place in the Premier A at 37-31.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Cauldrons sent teenager José Vargas to the plate against Airmen hurler Pedro Rodríguez. With the bases empty and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a home run off a 0-1 fastball to score 1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Alameda skipper Manuel Hernández, "and it cost us."
