Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Gwinnett County Black Cats got the win.

The Gwinnett County Black Cats picked up a win at The Ballpark on the Beach, knocking off the South Beach Blaze, 4-3. Starting pitcher Zalontae Hillary played a key role in the triumph. Hillary got the win, improving to 11-4. He allowed 9 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Hillary allowed 2 earned runs. Clarence Oveur picked up the save, his 1st.

Tied up with the Blaze in the top of the sixth, the Black Cats got a boost from shortstop Chang-lit Min. With a runner on 1st, Min saw a first pitch fastball from Hiro Kurasawa and hit a run-scoring double to break the stalemate and put Gwinnett County on top, 3-2.

Min attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

Their 40-26 record puts the Black Cats second in the Premier A.
