Yellowknife Dragonblood starter Gustavo Tobías turned in a sterling performance against the Athletic Club KC U-21, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Yellowknife reliever Pak Dong Hyeon was credited with the win, to go to 3-6. Ismael Calderón took the loss for Athletic Club KC. Manuel Torres was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
Pancho Gamboa found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Athletic Club KC hurler Ánibal Acejedo, the 20-year-old pinch hitter hit a sacrifice fly. His 5th RBI of the season put the Dragonblood on top, 3-2.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Tobías. "Successful pitchers do it."
The 'W' lifts Yellowknife's record to 23-28.
