South Beach turned a good effort from starter Gob Bluth into a win over the Gwinnett County Black Cats at Pipers Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. South Beach reliever Hiro Kurasawa picked up the win to move to 3-0. Luis Arreola suffered the loss. At 23-19, the Blaze find themselves in third place in the Premier A.
Harlan Peppers had a productive at-bat for the Blaze with one out in the top of the 12th. With a runner on 2nd, the third baseman reached on an error by the 1B. The at-bat was important in the South Beach win.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Peppers. "I like it."
