Mt. Vernon Bulls starter Greyson Torain was in fine form against the Yellowknife Dragonblood at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon, leading his team to a 2-1 win. In 7.1 innings, Torain surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Evan Roy recorded his 6th save for Mt. Vernon.
António López, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a slider from Archie Yeboah for a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season put Mt. Vernon in front, 2-1.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Mt. Vernon Bulls manager , "I like our chances."
At 17-24, Mt. Vernon is in 9th place in the Premier A.
