Expos Suffer 5-3 Loss to Cauldrons
|
In a close game at Gators Ballpark, the Hogsmeade Cauldrons edged the Niagara Falls Expos, 5-3. Hogsmeade designated hitter Donatas Montiejunas earned the nod as player of the game after he went 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Hogsmeade reliever José Morales was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Ramón Cerrillo took the loss for Niagara Falls. The Expos fall to 5-7 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2027 season.
Hogsmeade took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Cody Skillings hit a run-scoring triple to make it 4-3, Cauldrons.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Niagara Falls manager Orlando Batista. "But we decided not to take it."
