Mahmudnizhad Leads Caterpillars to 1-0 Win over Bruins
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Grand Forks Caterpillars and the Bellevue Bruins, pitcher Awad Mahmudnizhad was excellent. The Grand Forks left-hander was named the player of the game in Grand Forks's 1-0 win. Jim Unknown was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities. With the victory, the Caterpillars record now stands at 34-58.
Mahmudnizhad, a native of al-Abdaliyah, Jordan, was dealing all game. He kept Bellevue hitters off-balance, while giving the Caterpillars 7.1 quality innings. Mahmudnizhad threw 89 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 6.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Mahmudnizhad told the Grand Forks Daily.
