Bruins Deal Generals Painful Loss
|
Bellevue beat Washington at Bellevue Field, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Aurelio Jiménez, who earned player of the game honors. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bellevue reliever Bru Sotelo was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Russell Hendrickson took the loss. Bellevue goes to 48-42, Washington to 47-43.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 3-3, designated hitter Sancho Tornero won it for Bellevue. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Tornero hit a 2-0 cutter from Russell Hendrickson for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 4-3 win.
"Put a star next to this win," Jiménez said.
