Burgos Lays Hammer Down in 1-0 Win
|
In a tight battle between the Grim Reapers and the Put-In-Bay BC, pitcher Francisco Burgos was in the zone. The Grim left-hander was named the player of the game in Grim's 1-0 win. Briggs Bourgeois earned the save for Grim, his 12th of the year. With the win, Grim goes to 37-38, while the BC fall to 53-22.
Burgos dominated for Grim, raising his record to 7-4. Put-In-Bay hitters had few good at-bats against the left-hander, who scattered 1 hit over 8 innings while striking out 11.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Grim skipper Dale Wolfe.
