Jets Fall to Generals, 4-1
|
Washington overcame a superlative game from José López to beat Kennesaw, 4-1. The Kennesaw pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Trevor Brohard recorded the save for Washington, his 12th of the season. Washington is third in the Silver A with a record of 41-33.
The Generals got a big at-bat from Brant Thigpen. For the game, Thigpen was 2-3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 17th double of the season gave Washington a 1-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Thigpen after the game.
