Bruins Saddle Hotspur U-21 with 5-3 Loss
|
Bellevue Field was the site of a competitive game between the Phoenix Hotspur U-21 and Bellevue Bruins.
In a close game at Bellevue Field, the Bellevue Bruins edged the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, 5-3. Bellevue right fielder Domingo Colón earned the nod as player of the game after he was 4-4 with 4 singles. Bellevue reliever Gwang-soo Park picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. José Ruíz took the loss.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Bruins sent teenager David Muller to the plate against Hotspur U-21 hurler José Ruíz. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-0 slider to score 1.
Muller told the Bellevue Bulletin: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
The 4th-place Bruins improved to 36-32.
