Hotspur U-21 Win Thriller, 4-3
|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 picked up a win at Hotspur Kiddie Complex, knocking off the Walla Walla Walleye, 4-3. Starting pitcher José Quiñones was an essential part of his team's success. The Walleye, now 27-33, have lost 4 straight.
The Hotspur U-21 were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when second baseman Solomon Norment turned a 2-0 fastball from Martyn Drdio into a 2-run triple. The walk-off triple sent a roar through the crowd and gave Phoenix a thrilling 4-3 win.
"It's a mindset," said Quiñones. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
