Generals Fall to .500 After Loss to Hotspur U-21
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Phoenix Hotspur U-21 eventually prevailed at Washington Park.
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 downed the Washington Generals, 7-4, at Washington Park. The Hotspur U-21 were led by Juan Negrete, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Richard Osborn recorded his 9th save for Phoenix.
In the top of the fifth, Phoenix second baseman Solomon Norment had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Norment stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, Phoenix. For the game, he was 1-5.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Norment said after the game.
At 27-29, the Hotspur U-21 find themselves in 6th place in the Silver A.
