Phoenix Edges Bellevue, 4-1, Pao Pao Ks 10
|
The Bellevue Bruins and Phoenix Hotspur U-21 provided some drama at Bellevue Field.
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 got a strong performance from pitcher Maru Pao Pao, who stymied the Bellevue offense en route to a 4-1 win at Bellevue Field. Richard Osborn finished to wrap up his 7th save.
The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Pao Pao. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Hotspur U-21. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Bruins, striking out 10 and scattering 4 hits over 8 innings. Pao Pao is now 4-5 on the season.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Phoenix skipper Rudy Hankins.
The 6th-place Hotspur U-21 are now 25-27, the Bruins 27-25.
