Bruins Suffer 6-3 Loss to BC
|
The Put-In-Bay BC beat the Bellevue Bruins, 6-3, at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Edgar Balerio, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 4 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Benjamin Busto picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-1. He struck out 7 in 6.2 innings. Put-In-Bay, at 35-16, sits in first place in the Silver A.
Balerio had a game-changing single in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Carlos Ortíz, he banged a 2-run single to left, giving the BC a 5-3 lead. It was the 31st hit of the year for Balerio.
When asked about his performance after the game, Balerio said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
