Loss to Hotspur U-21 Extends Walla Walla Losing Streak

The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 topped the Walla Walla Walleye, 3-2, in USSL Single A action at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. The player of the game was Phoenix pitcher and Queens, New York native José Ruíz. Ruíz got the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Ruíz allowed 2 earned runs. Lucas Akerval finished the game for Phoenix and earned his 1st save.
The Hotspur U-21 got a big at-bat from Juan Negrete. For the game, Negrete was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 29th hit of the season gave Phoenix a 2-1 lead.
