The Put-In-Bay BC faced a tough opponent in Washington pitcher Baruc Garibay, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Put-In-Bay Ballpark by a final score of 1-0. Garibay went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Lance Hodges earned the win for Put-In-Bay. He lasted 7 innings, allowing no earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 4-2. Earning his 14th save of the year was Joaquin Farias.
The BC beat the Generals in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Sameen Shaw produced in the bottom of the second. Batting against Washington pitcher Baruc Garibay, he gave his team a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Jacob Curtis. "That was the problem."
The first-place BC have won 5 in a row.
