The Jets had to overcome a good performance from Grim pitcher Robbie Betchley to claim a 3-2 win at Jets Stadium. Betchley went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Kennesaw reliever José Velásquez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cecil Beijeman took the loss. Today's win puts Kennesaw at 20-19, while Grim falls to 15-24.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Jets sent teenager Diego Romero to the plate against Reapers hurler Cecil Beijeman. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a triple off a 1-1 fastball to score 1.
"It feels good to get that win," said Romero. "Now it's on to the next one."
