Storm Topple Hotspur U-21 with Late Rally
|
The Storm took Phoenix pitcher José Ruíz's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. The final score was 3-2. Ruíz went 8 innings and allowed no earned runs. Syracuse reliever Alfonso Dolton got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Pancho Campos was tagged with the loss. Jim Unknown earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Eduardo Santos hit a 1-1 fastball from Pancho Campos for a 2-run double. It put Syracuse in front, 3-2.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Phoenix manager Rudy Hankins.
Syracuse, now 14-4, is playing great baseball to start the year.
