Middies Come Up Short at Vancouver
Vancouver Grey Wolves starter Pedro Valdéz was in fine form against the Grafton Middies at Wolf Den in Vancouver, leading his team to a 2-0 win. Valdéz got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Valdéz allowed no earned runs. Tyler Rodríguez was credited with the save for Vancouver, his 2nd of the season.

Vancouver took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Pau Arria stroked a 2-run single to make it 2-0, Grey Wolves.

"I liked his command," said Vancouver manager David Krause. "Pedro was throwing strikes."

Vancouver, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
