Syracuse Edges Grim, 4-0, Sai Ks 9
|
Pitcher Morihiro Sai was sensational for the Syracuse Storm in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Grim Reapers. Sai received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Getting the save was Francisco Castillo, his 1st. Syracuse, now 7-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Sai, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited performance. The hurler struck out 9 in 6.1 innings and gave up no earned runs. Sai raised his record to 3-0 on the year with 32 strikeouts.
Sai told the Syracuse Today: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
