2-1 Win by Storm Continues Hot Start
|
The Storm faced a stiff challenge from Washington pitcher Arnold Safi, but persevered to claim a win at Washington Park. The final score was 2-1. Safi went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Syracuse Storm, now 5-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Tsuginori Kobayashi was a key contributor to the win for the Storm. In the top of the sixth with two out, the light-hitting right fielder stroked a triple to center. He was 1 for 3 with a triple.
Said Syracuse manager Chad Hess: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
