The Galesburg Guzzlers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jorge Otero, who muffled the Myrtle Beach offense en route to a tight 2-0 Guzzlers win at Galesburg Field. Geoff Stackhouse, credited with the win, is now 4-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. Vicente Escamilla was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
Late in the game, catcher Toussiant L'Ouverture had a big at-bat for Galesburg. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a 2-run single off Carlos González. The play gave the Guzzlers a 2-0 lead.
"Runs were at a premium," said Galesburg manager Rickey Burrell.
This win makes it 1 in a row for Galesburg.
