The first-place Idaho Falls Chukars welcomed Provo to Idaho Falls Park.
Idaho Falls right-hander Barney Starr made an effective start against the Provo Mango at Idaho Falls Park, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Claudio Palma locked down his 17th save.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the fourth inning when the Chukars sent teenager Ilkka Haapajarvi to the plate against Mango hurler Pancho Mastache. With a runner on 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-1 forkball to score 1.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Idaho Falls manager Dan Anderson.
The Chukars have now won 5 straight.
