Kurota Lays Hammer Down in 5-1 Win
|
Hammond played host to Idaho Falls at the friendly confines of The Heron Refuge.
Hammond pitcher Ryunosuke Kurota did his part in helping his team beat the Idaho Falls Chukars, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Luis Vega earned the save, his 2nd.
Kurota overpowered the Chukars. The Hammond right-hander allowed 6 hits over 8 innings, while recording 10 punchouts. With the win, he is 4-3 on the season.
"A great game, a great day," said Kurota about the win. "I can't complain."
With the win over Idaho Falls, the Herons improved to 50-34.
