Dragoons Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Dragoons had to overcome a fine performance from Delaware pitcher Masami Kogawa to grab a 6-3 win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Kogawa went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Louisiana reliever Dave Hemphill picked up the win to move to 1-0. Masami Kogawa suffered the loss. Gary Mason closed the door for Louisiana, picking up his 13th save of the year.
Also producing for Louisiana was right fielder Nelson Muntz, who stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, Muntz went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Muntz told reporters after the game.
The 9th-place Dragoons have won 4 in a row.
