The Torch had to overcome a fine performance from Delaware pitcher Lincoln Spooner to grab a 3-2 win at Carrier Field. Spooner went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Mancelona reliever Tomás Vargas picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Rudy Byrd shouldered the loss. The Torch raised their record to 32-32.

Jim Halpert provided some late-game heroics for Mancelona. In the top of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a full count fastball from Rudy Byrd and propelled Mancelona to a 3-2 lead.

In postgame remarks, Halpert said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
