Panama City right-hander Eduardo Capata pitched his team to victory over the Richardson City Thundercats at The Tank. The final score was 7-2. In 6.1 innings, Capata surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The Piranhas bumped their record to 58-49 with this latest triumph.
In the bottom of the 2nd, Panama City took the lead on a 2-run double by Steve Cunningham. At the time, the Piranhas were trailing 1-0, but Cunningham's hit with two outs against Richardson City pitcher Josef van der Poel put them in front, 2-1.
"I thought we played a nice game," Cunningham told the Panama City Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
