Dragoons Edge Idaho Falls in Pitching Duel
|
In a tight game between the Louisiana Dragoons and the Idaho Falls Chukars, pitcher Jason Pearson was terrific on the mound. The Louisiana right-hander was named the player of the game in Louisiana's 1-0 win. Earning his 4th save for Louisiana was Brian Krick. The Dragoons own a robust 23-31 mark.
There was more than one reason the Dragoons beat the Chukars, but one factor was Héctor Rúbio. In the bottom of the second, the Louisiana designated hitter came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Pearson told the Louisiana Bulletin.
