Hawks Shut Out 1787 BC
|
The Highwood Hawks went home winners at Carrier Field, thanks in large part to starter Bartolo García. García silenced the Delaware 1787 BC, enabling Highwood to grab the 5-0 win. With the win, the Hawks improved to 24-25.
In the top of the fifth, Highwood right fielder Carlos Medellín had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two outs, Medellín stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, Highwood. For the game, he was 3 for 5 with 3 singles.
"We'll savor this win," Medellín told the Highwood Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
