Piranhas Fall to Rivera, Thundercats
|
The Richardson City Thundercats grabbed a 8-6 win over the Panama City Piranhas at The Tank. Richardson City third baseman Javier Rivera went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 to earn player of the game honors. Eduardo Molina picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Anderson O'Mara was tagged with the loss. Manuel Franco, credited with the save, is now 10 for 10 in save opportunities.
Alden Wiley had the most critical at-bat for Richardson City, coming in the top of the ninth inning with two out and runners on 1st and 3rd. Wiley hit a first pitch sinker from Anderson O'Mara for a run-scoring single. It put Richardson City in front, 7-6.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Rivera.
With the win, the Thundercats improved to 59-47.
