Dragoons Go Down to Defeat, 5-0
|
Provo Mango starter Gilberto Medina turned in an exceptional performance against the Louisiana Dragoons at Mango Yard, resulting in a Provo win, 5-0. In 6.1 innings, Medina surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Provo, at 23-22, occupies 7th place in the Menard's A.
There was more than one reason the Mango beat the Dragoons, but one factor was Francisco Guerra. In the bottom of the third, the Provo first baseman came to bat and hit a 3-run home run. It staked his team to a 3-0 lead.
"This is not a one-man show," said Medina. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
