Northern Lions BC Walk It Off for 43rd Win of Season
Thunder Bay withstood an impressive performance by Austin catcher Jeff Green to defeat the Rangers, 6-5, at Great Northern Field. Green went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Thunder Bay reliever Norberto Quintana was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Gavin Blackburn took the loss for Austin. The last-place Northern Lions BC raised their record to 43-60.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth. That's when Thunder Bay left fielder António Mendoza, facing Gavin Blackburn, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Northern Lions BC the 6-5 win.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Scott Williams.
