Despite a great performance by Salem right fielder Austin Hathaway, the Asheville Highlanders defeated the Misfits by the score of 5-4 at Asheville Park. Hathaway went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Luis López, credited with the save, is now 8 for 12 in save opportunities. The Highlanders, now 35-56, have won 4 in a row.
Also producing for Asheville was third baseman Javier Luna, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Luna went 1 for 4.
