Screaming Eagles Lose, 5-4, at The Pizza Oven
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Mike Thompson, the Little Caesars Hot N Readys defeated the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-4. Thompson was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hot N Readys. Little Caesars starter Leif Mayer was credited with the win after throwing 106 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 8-5. Noah Shellenbarger recorded his 23rd save for Little Caesars.
Levi Tess aided the Little Caesars cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop was 1-2, while adding 2 RBI.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Tess, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Little Caesars, at 46-39, occupies 4th place in the Premier AA.
