Farmers Knock Off Yakima at Farmers Field

The Lancaster Farmers beat the Yakima Hops, 4-1, at Farmers Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Alfredo Sánchez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. The winner was Lancaster reliever Alejandro López, now 3-4. The loser was Burm Snart. The 'W' lifts Lancaster's record to 29-40.
Also producing for Lancaster was left fielder Ryan Elmore, who stroked a 2-run double in the bottom of the second. For the game, Elmore went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"We were in it," said Yakima manager Craig Walters. "We just didn't score enough runs."
